Lighthouse Education is a not-for-profit healthcare training provider based on the Isle of Wight. Since 2010, we have delivered affordable, high-quality training for primary care professionals, helping healthcare teams develop skills, knowledge and confidence.
As part of Lighthouse Medical, a Community Benefit Society with charitable status, any surplus income is reinvested into healthcare education and workforce development.

Where are we based?
Lighthouse Education is based on the Isle of Wight and is part of Lighthouse Medical, a Community Benefit Society with charitable status. We have been supporting healthcare professionals with training and education since 2010.
Where is your training venue?
Most of our face-to-face courses are held at The Lighthouse Clinic, 62 Crocker Street, Newport, Isle of Wight. Located in the town centre, the venue is easily accessible by car and public transport, with nearby parking and Newport Bus Station just a short walk away.

Does the BP Champion training qualify me to diagnose or give medical advice?
No, our blood pressure training does not cover diagnosis or clinical treatment advice. It is designed to raise awareness and promote heart health in the community.
Who are these courses designed for?
Our courses are designed for GP receptionists, care navigators, practice administrators, medical secretaries and other primary care support staff working within GP practices and Primary Care Networks.
Are the courses suitable for new staff members?
Yes. Several courses are specifically designed for new staff, including our Induction Workshop for New Reception Staff and Practical Medical Terminology courses.
Are the courses suitable for experienced receptionists?
Absolutely. Courses such as Reaching Excellence for Experienced Receptionists and Developing Resilience for GP Receptionists are designed to help experienced staff enhance their existing skills and confidence.
How long are the workshops?
Workshops are delivered as either half-day or full-day sessions, depending on the course content.
How many people can attend?
To ensure a high-quality learning experience, workshops are designed for a maximum of 12 participants.
Are certificates provided?
Yes. All delegates receive an electronic certificate of attendance following completion of the workshop.
Can training be delivered at our practice?
Yes. Training can be delivered at your practice premises or at a suitable venue arranged by Lighthouse Education.
Are the workshops interactive?
Yes. Our workshops include practical exercises, group discussions, case studies and real-life examples to help delegates apply their learning in the workplace.
Do the courses cover current NHS and primary care requirements?
Yes. Course content reflects current primary care practices, NHS guidance and relevant legislation where applicable.
